Why join the St. Catharines Roadrunners & Walkers?
Most people join a running club to meet other runners with
similar interests and find new training partners who can push them
to a new level. Others just seek companionship and conversation
during a long training run. For many of our members the social
aspects of the club are also a major consideration. Many long term
friendships have been formed and maintained over the miles.
Wednesday nights are fundamental for our club
members. This is when we catch up on announcements about
upcoming races and members' achievements over the previous week. We
hear about other non-club races and charity events, and
also social activities such as our Summer BBQ, Fall Wine Run and
Christmas Party. We will help you find a group that is running
or walking at your pace so you can join them, enjoy the company and
learn new routes. Stick around after for a drink, some food and some
casual conversation. You're sure to have a great time!
Some people prefer trails to roads for a number of reasons.
Almost every Sunday morning a group meets to run
(or walk) on some of the many trails in Niagara. It is a great way
to experience some of the best that our region has to offer from the
Bruce Trail and Twelve Mile Creek to Woodend, Shorthills, the
Niagara Gorge and the Niagara Parkway. We also have a
group of keen cyclists who meet regularly for rides of varying
length and intensity. Each long weekend from Easter to
Thanksgiving there is a club ride on the morning of the holiday.
For more information on our club and how to join, or to sign up
for our weekly newsletter, which lists members' race results, races
coming up, social events, other announcements and running trivia,
please see the About Us section of our
site or see the contact information below. Hope
to see you soon!
