Participant Guide Course Map
The 21st running of the Niagara
Ultra-Marathon. A 50 km, Marathon, ½ Marathon or 10 km race on a traffic-free asphalt footpath following the Niagara River Parkway from
Niagara-on-the-Lake past Fort George on to Niagara Falls and
back. In continuous sight of the Great River and turning around at the
Falls, this fast course offers you the opportunity to run on a very scenic
course steeped in Canadian and American history. This is event #5 in the 2013 Ontario Ultra
Series (OUS). 800 participant limit.
Certified Courses: All races are out and back. On 100% asphalt footpath with
several road crossings. Relatively flat, along the Niagara Parkway in
continuous sight of the great Niagara River. 50 km race turning around at
the Falls. As a certified race course the marathon is a Boston qualifier!
Walkers: Walkers are welcome in each division as long as they can
meet the
time limit. To be recognized as walkers, contestants must
voluntarily adhere to competitive walking rules.
Timing: Chiptime Results
Start Time: 7 am start for 50km. 7:30 am start
for marathon. 8:00 am start for half marathon. 8:30 am start for 10 km
Race packet pick up: Race day starting at 6:00 am, or Friday June
21, 2013
between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Kinsmen Scout Hall.
Start/Finish location: Kinsmen Scout Hall, 430 King St., Niagara on the
Lake, ON L0S 1J0
Course Markings: Every 5 kilometres. The first and last mile is
also marked
Time limit: 7 hrs for 50 km and Marathon.
Facilities: Washrooms at start/finish and various locations on route,
showers at finish.
Aid Stations: Every 5 km (water, electrolyte drink, pretzels, bananas,
oranges, cookies, potato chips) plus St. Johns Ambulance mobile units.
Drop Bags: For 50k runners ONLY. We will accept drop bags at the registration site for the 25K AID STATION ONLY. Please mark them well so you know which is yours and please do not put valuable times in drop bags because we may not be able to get them back to the start/finish as quickly as you get back.

Please note that sweatshirts are only guaranteed those registered by May 31st.
Awards: Awards for all races to top Male & Female overall, and
1st Male & Female in each age division (<25, 25-29, 30 -34, 35 - 39,
40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60+). No duplication of awards. Walker awards to the
1st overall finishers in each race. Sweatshirt
to all race participants registered by May 31. A medal for all finishers
of the ½ Marathon, Marathon, 50 km races.

Directions: From any direction take QEW to Niagara-on-the-Lake (between
Niagara Falls and St. Catharines). Take Niagara-on-the-lake exit and follow
signs to Niagara-on-the-lake (Route 55). Turn right on Mary St and follow to
King St. Kinsmen Scout Hall is on King St. opposite Mary St.
Parking: Marshals will direct you to parking spots on the grounds
surrounding
Kinsmen Scout Hall (race start/finish).
